Safety Update
Back in July, members of our safety team attended Fall Protection Program Administrator and Competent Person training in Columbus, Ohio. It was an opportunity to review policies, written programs, inventory and inspection of equipment and also participate in demonstrations using fall protection equipment.
Employees working at heights can apply to several occupational functions across the industry. Whether it is conducting a roofing inspection for building envelope applications, mold air sampling and other environmental inspections, construction materials testing lab purposes and examining structural beams or block walls, there are many job service applications. The use of fall protection equipment, such as a harness and lanyard(s), is typically coupled with the use of an aerial or scissor lift with many of these work duties.

Beyond the fall protection applications for CTL, our subsidiary company Industrial Communications and Sound (ICS), a high-tech audio-visual and security solutions company providing AV Control Systems to Professional Audio Solutions, is familiar with the use of fall protection equipment as well during installations. With the acquisition of the company by CTL Engineering in the fall of 2009, the ICS of today has vastly outgrown its original scope. Capitalizing on the resources and technical experience of CTL Engineering, ICS has been able to forge strong associations with key industry partners and regulatory bodies such as AVIXA and is recognized as one of the Top Audio-Visual Systems Company in Ohio, US.
