A Letter From CK Satyapriya: Winter 2021

A letter from our President CK Satyapriya for Winter 2021.  Each quarter the President & CEO of CTL Engineering addresses our clients and employee-owners.

Dear Client and Employee Owners:

I am writing this letter after three weeks of tumultuous and historical happenings in the US. I hope we, the People of the United States, come together to defeat this Pandemic and overcome the many issues the country is facing.

On the positive side, CTL has successfully completed its 30th year as an ESOP. ESOP is a shared capitalism where all of the participants benefit. I am proud to state that CTL was profitable in 2020 due to the employee-owners’ efforts and diligence. To continue the culture of being a leader in the engineering space, we have added new service lines and staff ready to serve our clients’ needs.

Due to the Pandemic, the way we use our existing facilities will change, resulting in required modification to facilities. In addition, there will be a need to conserve and/or optimize resources, bringing about a need for assessing existing facilities and appurtenances. CTL has built a cadre of people with the expertise and experience to help in this endeavor.

The articles in this edition of the newsletter showcase specific expertise, including building condition assessments, establishing maintenance management plans, and ways to budget and optimize available resources. Environmental issues will arise when upgrading or retrofitting buildings. The scientists and engineers at CTL can take care of it, including providing design-build and construction administration services. We also use new technology for assessing the needs and design methodologies to help minimize surprises during construction.

The three central tenets of CTL have been the adherence to Ethics, Quality and Ownership indicated by our responsiveness to our client’s needs.

Let us hope the swearing-in of the new administration is the dawn of positivity and camaraderie.

C.K. Satyapriya, P.E., D. GE, F. ASCE
