American Heart Association Heart Walk 2018
It was a beautiful day for walking as Ali Jamshiti, CTL’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, lead a team to bring awareness to heart disease. This is Ali’s 25th year raising money for the American Heart Association.
Several CTL employee-owners walked alongside Ali and our President and CEO, CK Satyapriya, and his dog, Leo.
CTL is proud to contribute $11,300 this year, and over $250,000 for the past 25 years. Besides the Heart Walk, employee-owners have the option to donate $1 every week on “Jeans Friday” and CTL matches the donation 100%.
The 2018 Heart Walk was attended by 30,000 people and raised over $2 million combined! The American Heart Association has an extraordinary impact on the heart of our nation. Today, heart disease and stroke are the #1 and #2 killers. All of the funds raised support research in local hospitals and have reduced the two diseases by over 20%.
Ali is proud to have served for a quarter of a century for this cause. “It was a great event. To see that many people walk for a great cause made me realize how important this mission is. 25 years ago, in my first walk, there were only 500 people.” he said.
