Homegrown Leadership: A CTL Success Story

One of the unique qualities of CTL is how many people make it their forever career.  Maybe it’s the family-like atmosphere or the fact that people see the value in our ESOP.  Whatever the reason, CTL has many success stories, and here’s one of them.

After graduating in March 2001 from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Communications, Jessica Donley joined CTL Engineering as a part-time Marketing Assistant.  Without having much marketing nor engineering experience, Jessica’s expectations were basic filing and data entry, but after six months, the current leadership at CTL recognized her ability, and she became the full-time Marketing Coordinator.

With the support of the managers and through self-learning, Jessica developed a Marketing Department that people could rely on and trust.  Her hard work paid off, and in 2004, CTL presented her with the coveted Employee of the Year award.

Today, in addition to her role as Marketing Manager, Jessica serves as co-chair of the Fun Czar/ESOP Educational Committee.  In this role, she is responsible for developing the employee-ownership culture for the entire company.  She is also a member of CTL’s ESOP Administrative Committee.

Jessica was recently promoted as an Associate of CTL.  Along with other Associates, she will be developing the leadership skills necessary to guide CTL in the decades to come.
