Meet Pat Nortz – CTL’s New Principal of Environmental Services
Mr. Patrick Nortz is Principal of CTL’s environmental services and professional personnel across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and beyond, where he will be responsible for environmental staff and environmental projects. He brings a breadth of environmental experience from planning, permitting, investigation, design, construction, and post construction. His experience is unique in that her has worked as a regulator (Ohio EPA, Division of Ground Water), engineering/environmental consultant including seven years as an owner, and in industry (4 years as an environmental manager for a Fortune 500 landfill/waste business).
Pat’s experience in engineering, permitting, and construction includes: stream, site, and wetland restoration permitting, design, and construction; stormwater management, green infrastructure design; natural gas distribution pipelines and regulator stations; compost facilities; landfills including cells, caps, gas collection & control systems, leachate collection & control systems, stormwater management, and environmental monitoring; and vehicle fueling systems. Pat has been involved in permitting, compliance, and design as regulated by environmental programs such as the Clean Air Act (CAA) for air quality emission controls, the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) for solid and hazardous waste facilities, Clean Water Act (CWA) for waters of the US, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) for water discharges, and related local and state programs.
With dual degrees and certifications in geology and engineering, Pat understands and can perform and/or manage the multidisciplinary aspects of the projects he takes on, including teams comprised of in-house professional and support staff, and various third-party consulting disciplines and contractor trades.
Pat stays very active in the community, volunteering his time to the boards of the Air and Waste Management Association (currently Secretary of the East Central Section), Rocky River Watershed Council (past Chair), and the Green Ribbon Coalition (Board Member), He also stays active by running, fishing, kayaking, and track and field officiating.
