The Ohio State University – Lane Avenue Residence Hall Roof Replacement

CTL Engineering, Inc. was retained by Abbot Studios to perform a roof assessment on the Lane Avenue Residence Hall. The evaluation included a visual inspection and performance of six roof cores on a roof area of approximately 11,162 square feet. The core cuts revealed dry conditions which indicated the insulation system was not tapered for roof drainage. Due to visible signs of water ponding after heavy rains, CTL determined that slope needed to be added into the new roof assembly for drainage.  CTL recommended a complete roof replacement for the High Rise Roof at Lane Avenue Residence Hall that included tapered roof insulation board to add slope for improved drainage.
